Meet Carey Anderson

Febuary 14, 2008 - Carey Anderson is best known for her role as Sophie in Broadway's hit musical, Mamma Mia! In college, Anderson took theatre and voice lessons in the Music Theatre department at Millikin University.

Other New York credits include Mollie in The Girlfriend, K.C. Downing in My Favorite Year, Kitty in Pride and Prejudice, Edith in Picnic at Hanging Rock, Abbey Victoria in Abbey Victoria and a featured vocalist in the Benefit for Playwrights Horizons.

Anderson's regional musical repertoire includes Lizzie in Baby, Donna in The Taffetas, Nellie Forbush in South Pacific, Edwin Drood in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Emily Webb in Our Town, Kate Mullins in Titanic, Judy/Ginger in Ruthless! The Musical, Robyn in Godspell, Anna in Tintypes, the narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a soloist in Life and the Laughs, Esther in Meet Me in St. Louis and Echo in Eleemosynary.

She is currently married to her husband Devon.

Look for Anderson this year when she takes part in the read of Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich's "Ever After" January 28 - February 8, 2008. She will also be making an appearance during a production of Craig Carnelia's Music. She also was a special guest at The After Party, last February 16 in New York City!
